Regular Meeting 6:00 PM. The program will be on Corkball presented by William H. Hoagland. Corkball is a game unique to the St.Louis area that was extremely popular in the 1940s and 1950s. It is an off-shoot of baseball and focuses on hitting and pitching skills in particular. Although the popularity of the game died out by 1970, I organized a series of games between local doctors and lawyers in the 1980s to improve the relationship between doctors and lawyers, which was at an all-time low. Yes, a number of bean-balls were thrown and yes, the lawyers generally won (since we made the rules) but not always. Come and watch the film clips..
